We are recruiting multiple positions in the new School of Cybernetics.

 

The School of Cybernetics is a brand new organisation in the ANU College of Engineering & Computer Science. It is now the home of 3Ai and will build on its foundational work.

 

As well as housing 3Ai, the School of Cybernetics will build capacity in Systems and Design. This is an opportunity to create new ways of working, researching, educating and engaging, to imagine something different, built on a diverse and inclusive culture.

Institute for Water Futures Research Fellow

Location: Canberra

Classification: ANU Level B to Level C

Salary package: $99,809 - $133,202 per annum plus 17% Superannuation

Term: Full time, Fixed-term (3 years)

The Australian National University's new Institute for Water Futures (IWF) and the School of Cybernetics are seeking an exceptional team member to support the design and delivery of innovative, interdisciplinary, outwardly focused programs blending education, research and engagement in the area of water futures. We are looking for candidates with well-honed collaboration, communication, creative, conceptual and analytical skills, as well as a passion for water in relation to future technologies, environments and societies. Our ideal candidate will have the confidence and ability to help establish the cybernetics components of the IWF, develop new research to drive innovative external educational offerings, and collaborate across the School of Cybernetics, the Institute for Water Futures and with external industry, government and community partners.

 

This position is a 3-year fixed-term appointment to contribute to the work program of the Institute for Water Futures and collaboratively designing, driving and sustaining a program of strategic activities that will launch the new School of Cybernetics. We welcome a diversity of backgrounds, experiences and ideas and encourage applications from individuals who may have had non-academic career paths, who may have taken a career break or who have achieved excellence in careers outside of academia.

Engagement & Impact Officer

  • Flex your marketing expertise to support the establishment of programs blending education, research and engagement 
  • Work with and learn from amazing people with a range of different backgrounds and experiences

 

This position will assist the engagement and impact team in delivering marketing, communications and relationship management expertise to the school. This role will support the school's social media platforms, website updates, conduct impact analysis, capture information for the school's stakeholder database and perform various administrative tasks. There will also be opportunities to contribute to the engagement and impact strategy. You will play an important part in launching the new school and helping to take cybernetics to the world!
