Professional framework
In guiding and accelerating a new branch of engineering into existence, we are building on existing core strengths in computer science and engineering combined with knowledge and frameworks from other disciplines. Brought together with novel research and insights, this will create a new field of practice. We aim to articulate and deliver a framework that considers systems, not just in terms of technology, but also people, cultural context and the broader ecological frame.
But a new branch of engineering is more than a collection of research and theoretical frameworks. It will need to engage with professional standards, consolidated curriculum and ongoing learning, and a toolkit for practitioners.
We are well on that journey. We taught our first Masters cohort in 2019 in an experimental program that will run through a 4-year period of iterations before stabilising.
By 2022, we aim to have taught the first generation of disciplinary experts and practitioners and laid the foundations for the uptake of the new branch of engineering on the global stage.

Artificial intelligence and cyber-physical systems
From design to decommission – safely, sustainably and responsibly guiding next-gen tech to scale is at the heart of our work.
Cybernetics and thinking in systems
We are building on existing core strengths in computer science and engineering, incorporating elements of other disciplines to create something new.
Asking the right questions
As we stand on the brink of cyber-physical systems at scale, we need to start by asking the right questions.
Observing CPS in the wild
Observing cyber-physical systems in action helps to bring a new branch of engineering into existence.
